How We Started

Dryer Dryer LLC was founded by owner David Sherman in 2024.

After years of working as a corporate R&D food scientist in Boston—and looking for a change from fluorescent lights and Zoom meetings—I moved back to my hometown of Yarmouth Port to start fresh. I’ve always loved working with my hands and wanted to do something that would make a positive impact on the community I grew up in.

With my parents having served as local chimney sweeps on the Cape for over 30 years, they recognized a significant gap in professional dryer vent cleaning services locally. Most companies offering these services were big franchises coming from off-Cape that often lacked specialized training. I saw a great opportunity to fill that gap with a professional, local company that "townies" can count on.

I started Dryer Dryer with three core principles: Safety, Code Compliance, and Efficiency.

Certification Was Step One

Ensuring that the work I do for my community meets the values I set forth for my company was paramount. Gaining deep knowledge of proper cleaning processes, specialized equipment, and local building codes was the only way to differentiate myself from competitors and provide guaranteed quality.

I pursued the CDET (Certified Dryer Exhaust Technician) certification for my dryer vent services and eventually obtained my Certified Ducts credentials for HVAC cleaning.
