Bourne Homes and Their Vents

• Second homes in Pocasset and Cataumet: about a third of the homes in these two villages are seasonal. If you open the house in spring and close it in fall, book a cleaning before summer and a check after the season. A vent left idle all winter invites nesting birds.

We're sorry we can't. Those villages are on the mainland side of the canal, and we only serve the Cape side. Thanks for thinking of us.

Yes. What matters is which side of the canal your house is on, not the ZIP code. If you're on the Cape side, we'll come to you.

We close up our Pocasset house every fall. When should we book?

Before you open the house for summer, and again after the season. The spring visit also catches any nest that moved in over the winter. If salt air has rusted or stuck your outside flap, it goes in your report with photos, and any replacement is quoted up front for you to approve.
